Job summary

Camp Lake James is seeking a friendly, dependable Bartender & POS Attendant to join our team. This position serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, processes transactions through the POS system, keeps the bar inviting, and maintains inventory.

The ideal candidate is energetic, professional, and able to work independently or with a team, with weekend and seasonal hours required; NC laws and club policies apply. Training and development provided.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Must meet all applicable legal requirements to serve alcoholic beverages in North Carolina.
  • Previous bartending, food service, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of alcoholic beverages and beverage service preferred.
  • Previous POS experience preferred.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Dependable, punctual, and professional.

Responsibilities

  • Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to club standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of beer, wine, and other beverage offerings.
  • Verify that patrons meet the legal age requirements for purchasing and consuming alcoholic beverages.
  • Follow all applicable North Carolina laws, regulations, and Camp Lake James policies regarding the sale and service of alcoholic beverages.
  • Monitor alcohol service responsibly and notify management of any concerns regarding intoxicated patrons or inappropriate behavior.
  • Maintain proper portion control and minimize waste.
  • Welcome members and guests in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner.
  • Provide prompt and attentive service while creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere.
  • Take beverage and food orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Answer questions about beverages, menu items, and available selections.
  • Make appropriate beverage recommendations based on member and guest preferences.
  • Maintain a professional and positive relationship with members, guests, and fellow team members.
  • Accurately enter food and beverage orders into the point-of-sale system.
  • Verify member charges and ensure all transactions are properly recorded.
  • Maintain accuracy when processing member and guest purchases.
  • Restock the bar as needed throughout the shift.
  • Assist with maintaining adequate supplies of beverages, mixers, garnishes, and other bar supplies.
  • Report low inventory, damaged products, or other supply concerns to management.
  • Keep the bar, service areas, equipment, and surrounding areas clean and organized throughout the shift.
  • Wash and properly store glassware and bar equipment.
  • Clean and sanitize work surfaces and equipment.
  • Perform opening and closing duties, including cleaning, organizing, and taking out the trash.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting environment for members and guests.
  • Assist with special events and club functions as needed.
  • Follow all Camp Lake James rules, policies, and procedures.
  • Communicate important member, guest, inventory, or operational concerns to management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Camp Lake James is seeking a friendly, dependable, and customer-service-oriented Bartender & POS Attendant to join our team.

This position is responsible for providing excellent service to members and guests, serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, processing transactions through the point-of-sale (POS) system, maintaining bar inventory, and keeping the bar area clean, organized, and inviting.

The ideal candidate is energetic, professional, dependable, and comfortable working independently while also being a team player. The ability to anticipate member and guest needs, take initiative, and maintain a positive attitude in a busy environment is essential.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Bartending & Beverage Service
  • Serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to club standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of beer, wine, and other beverage offerings.
  • Verify that patrons meet the legal age requirements for purchasing and consuming alcoholic beverages.
  • Follow all applicable North Carolina laws, regulations, and Camp Lake James policies regarding the sale and service of alcoholic beverages.

  • Work may take place indoors and outdoors, including at the lakeside bar during the summer season.
