• Current, legal and unrestricted ability to work in the United States
• Must be minimum 21 years of age
• High school or equivalent education required
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing in English
• Food Service Handler Card and TABC certification valid for at least 6 months
• Knowledge of and ability to mix a wide variety of drinks
• Typically five (5) years bartending or equivalent experience or progression within Beverage department
• Preferred: 1-2 years’ experience in a full-service restaurant or lounge

Responsibilities

• Prepare cocktails for cocktail servers and guests using prescribed recipes
• Maintain company funds and equipment in an orderly manner
• Interact with guests to make them feel welcome
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Assist in the delegation of duties to barbacks
• Monitor proper par levels of supplies at assigned bars
• Communicate problems to immediate supervisor
• Ensure security and accuracy of assigned bank and manage overages/shortages
• Be physically present at work and at the assigned workstation

• Observe and direct actions of barbacks and maintain areas of responsibility
• Distinguish currency denominations and make change

YOUR MISSION (The Job Description)

The Bartender at the Resort Pool is responsible for providing excellent customer service while preparing alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for guests and cocktail servers while also taking orders and serving snacks and drinks. Additionally, assesses bar customers' needs and preferences and makes recommendations.

THE NITTY-GRITTY (The Essential Job Duties)

• Prepare cocktails for cocktail servers and guests of the Virgin Hotel using prescribed recipes
• Maintain company funds and equipment in an orderly manner
• Interact with guests in a manner, which makes them feel comfortable and welcome
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Assist in the delegation of duties to barbacks
• Monitor proper par levels of all supplies at assigned bars
• Communicate any problems or situations detrimental to property to immediate supervisor
• Responsible for the security and accuracy of assigned bank and is accountable for all overages and shortages
• Must be physically present at work, in assigned workstation, to perform all functions required of the position
• Always communicate effectively, with customers as well as all levels of employees
• Observe and direct actions of barbacks and to inspect and maintain areas for which responsible
• Distinguish between different denominations of currency and make change
• Review and comprehend all necessary documentation
• Use the equipment associated with the position, including but not limited to the cash register and all bar equipment
• Retrieve supplies and maintain a clean working area
• Other duties as assigned

• Preferred: 1-2 years' experience in a full-service restaurant or lounge

WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE'S

• Familiarity with superior customer service skills required
• Must have the ability to lead and supervise

THE WORKING CONDITIONS

• Lift up to 60 pounds of equipment or supplies, and move carts that weigh up to 100 pounds
• Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of cold, heat, and sound. Incumbents are at times subject to hazards such as chemicals; proper safety precautions will be taken. This position occasionally works outside and is subject to all weather. Proper clothing is provided
• Stand and walk for entire shift
• Stoop, bend, and reach in areas of limited space
