Job Description Summary

We are seeking an experienced and energetic Bartender with five+ years of experience. The bartender must be a spirit expert and responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives that cover the hotel's social venues. The bartender sets up, services, and breaks down the bar area, ensuring a high level of quality, consistency, and service.

Special Qualifications, Education or Licenses:

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Food Handler Certificate required
• Must speak, read, write and understand English clearly and fluently

Essential Elements:

• Adhere to Sonesta Hotel grooming standards.
• Lift and move approximately 40 pounds, including setting and storing in overhead areas.
• Push/pull a loaded beverage cart weighing approximately 200 pounds, including up and down inclines.
• Bend, squat, kneel, climb and reach daily.
• Move freely within the bar area.
• Stand for prolonged periods and perform tasks requiring repetitive motion.
• Communicate effectively with guests and staff.
• Maintain and operate equipment properly.
• Interact courteously and discreetly with guests and employees.
• Follow safety and emergency procedures.
• Handle cash and credit transactions and utilize point of sale equipment.
• Read, write, perform basic arithmetic, and work with chemicals and water.
• Must not be infected by food-transmitted diseases as per Public Health Services.
• Establish high customer service standards through interaction with guests.

Job Tasks:

• Set up and present the bar area properly.
• Requisition liquor, beer, and wine from purchasing.
• Maintain accurate par levels and sales records.
• Follow standard beverage recipes.
• Keep the bar clean and orderly.
• Provide guest information and satisfaction.
• Maintain hospitable service habits.
• Ensure cleanliness of the bar and perform other duties as assigned.

Additional Job Information/Anticipated Pay Range

Pay Range $16.50 - $17.50/hr. Base pay may vary based on experience and knowledge.
