Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality is seeking a skilled bartender for the Virginia Guesthouse opening in 2026. You will greet guests, maintain bar setup, and guide guests through the beverage journey with descriptive selling of the menu.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years of bartender experience, knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits, and hold current certifications. You will work under pressure in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with bar and kitchen staff to deliver an exceptional guest

Qualifications

  • Engaging and welcoming personality.
  • 2–4 years of bartender experience.
  • Knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits.
  • Current bartender certification or appropriate license.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests as they arrive or move about the bar area.
  • Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily.
  • Guide guests on their beverage journey through descriptive selling of the menu.
  • Be accurate in order taking and confirm all special requests.
  • Be the master of the bar, understanding details to enhance conversation.
  • Collaborate with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff.
  • Assist guests with concerns to guide them to a resolution that leaves them happy.
  • Finalize the experience through timely and accurate bill presentation.
  • Requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits.
  • Maintain stock, cutting and storing of fresh fruit and garnishes, juices, and perishables.

Welcome to the Virginia Guesthouse Opening in April 2026, the Virginia Guesthouse is a 214-room hotel featuring 25,000 square feet of conference and event space located on the beautiful Grounds of the University of Virginia. Making its debut in the spirited WAHOO community, the Guesthouse will offer a vibrant and inspiring setting for guests, conference attendees, faculty, and students alike. What you will have an opportunity to do:
  • Greet guests as they arrive or move about the bar area

  • Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product quality.
  • Mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks following standard ingredient recipes and practicing portion control.
  • Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest
  • Locks up and stores all beverages, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank.

Compensation:
