Job summary

Pyramid Global Hospitality’s Virginia Guesthouse seeks a motivated Banquet Bartender (On Call) to help set up banquet rooms, serve beverages, and tear down after events at the new Virginia Guesthouse on the University of Virginia grounds.

You will stock, prepare, and present drinks, input orders, handle payments, and maintain a courteous, guest-focused service standard in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of bartending experience.
• Experience in a 4-star, 5-star venue.
• Knowledge of wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Passion for creating an exceptional guest experience.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Current certification/license to be a bartender.

Responsibilities

• Direct the setup and preparation of banquet rooms for functions.
• Serve as the bartender and provide beverage service to guests.
• Clear and tear down banquet rooms after the function.
• Input orders into the POS, balance cash, and manage charges.
• Maintain stock, familiarize with garnishes, and ensure product quality.
• Ensure guest satisfaction through courteous, timely service.

What you will have an opportunity to do:

We are looking for a highly motivated Banquet Bartender (On Call) to join our team! This individual will help to direct the set up and preparation of banquet rooms for banquet functions, serve as the bartender as well as clear and tear down banquet rooms at the end of the function. This individual will serve beverages and/or food to the guests in a friendly, courteous and timely manner, resulting in guest satisfaction. Also, to prepare beverages for other servers to supply to guests, and act as cashier for the banquet beverage bar. If you have experience with high volume bartending at banquet events, enjoy making meaningful connections, figuring out what it takes and stepping it up to win the day is what you do, and you love it, we want you! Your role:

Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis. This includes requisitioning and stocking of all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on projections from the daily functions sheet. Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to insure product quality. Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks. Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks suing standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control. Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates a check for each guest and personnel guests, including those served by other beverage servers, to maintain accountability of all beverages served. Receives cash from guests, makes any change needed, verifies validity of charges, records charges, and insures vouchers are properly executed, in order to balance all moneys. Locks up and stores all beverages, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank. Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by Benchmark from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Compensation:

$8.00 plus tips - $8.00 plus tips
