Job summary

Hyatt Regency La Jolla is hiring a Bartender to contribute to high-quality guest service in Drift restaurant. You will prepare and serve drinks, provide personalized recommendations, and maintain a welcoming, clean bar area in a fast-paced hotel setting in San Diego, CA.

The right candidate enjoys mixology, teamwork, and excellent service, with prior bartending experience and familiarity with state guidelines.

Qualifications

• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• The ability to collaborate with colleagues and management.
• Strong communication skills.
• The ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull a moderate weight (about 25lbs) regularly.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Must be able and willing to obtain a California Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire (training and associated costs will be provided and covered by the company in accordance with state law).
• Must be able and willing to obtain Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification within 60 days of hire for positions involving alcohol service. (training and associated costs will be provided and covered by the company in accordance with state law).
• Must be age 21+.

About The Role – Bartender

The Bartender position contributes to the hotel's commitment to high-quality guest service and teamwork and must be the kind of person who appreciates high standards of excellence. Bartenders are responsible for providing libations and offering customized recommendations in Drift restaurant. The right person should be familiar with the latest in mixology, bar equipment, and sanitation standards, with a focus on maintaining an attractive bar and providing excellent service to the guest. This position offers opportunity for casual conversation, creativity and allows for building on one's style and previous bartending experiences. Preferred candidates will have understanding of state and local serving guidelines. Previous experience strongly preferred.

Wage Information

The hourly rate for this position is $19.00/hr. This is the pay rate for this position that Hyatt Regency La Jolla reasonably expects to pay.
