Job summary

The Lodge at Torrey Pines in La Jolla, CA is seeking an experienced Bartender (Cantinero/a) to deliver high standards of service for guests at the bar and lounge. The role focuses on mixing and serving drinks, maintaining knowledge of ingredients, and engaging guests with a professional, friendly demeanor.

Responsibilities include ensuring correct beverage preparation, assisting with stock, and supporting the leadership team.

Qualifications

• At least 2-3 years of relevant experience and/or training.
• Prior experience in a fine dining or bar restaurant environment preferred.
• Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire.
• RBS certification required.

• Verify patrons ID, as required.
• Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

SUMMARY

The Bartender ("Cantinero/a") serves each guest with the highest standard of professionalism, courtesy and enthusiasm to make the guest's day/evening enjoyable. Serves beverages to patrons seated at the bar and to cocktail servers servicing the lounge.

Qualifications:

• At least 2-3 years of relevant experience and/or training.
• A combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement.
• Prior experience in a fine dining or bar restaurant environment preferred.
• Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
• Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
• Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire. Evans Hotels will provide this training and is to be completed at the company’s expense.
• RBS certification required.
• Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
