Job summary

Army NAF is seeking a bartender to set up and stock a service bar, prepare a limited selection of beverages, and maintain a clean, sanitary work area.

The role requires basic math for billing and inventory, the ability to identify intoxicated patrons, and prior bartending experience is a plus. This is a position open to individuals meeting state age requirements and able to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Duties

• Sets up bars for operation, obtains cash bank and stocks service bar. Assures an adequate stock level is maintained, sets up storeroom and work area to permit easy access to stock items. Keeps bar and work area clean and sanitary.
• Prepares a limited variety of simple alcoholic beverages as requested by patrons and wait staff. Skill in mixing drinks using alcoholic beverages, beer and soda. Routine work performed without close supervision.
• Records sales and makes change or prepares charge slips. Applies simple arithmetic in calculating bills and making change. Identifies intoxicated and unruly patrons, resolves the problem or seeks assistance.
• Working Conditions: Work is primarily indoors. Stands for prolonged periods. Exposed to cuts and bruises. Regularly lifts and carries items weighing up to 20 pounds. Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Allowances and Differentials

• This job falls under the Federal Wage Schedule (FWS) pay system. FWS employees earn overtime pay for working more than 8 hours in a day or more than 40 hours in a week -- whichever gives the employee more benefit. Regular full-time, regular part-time, and regularly scheduled flexible employees may receive Sunday premium pay for working on Sundays. Employees may also be eligible to receive extra pay if the majority of their scheduled hours falls after 3:00 PM.
