Job summary

Palmetto Bluff is a luxury resort along the May River in South Carolina seeking a Bartender to engage guests, craft cocktails to our standards, and contribute to a welcoming bar experience. You will maintain a cash bank and support promotions to help the venue meet its goals and values.

The role requires 3 years of restaurant experience or 2 years bartending in a similar setting, deep knowledge of spirits, wine and food, and a strong customer service mindset with a positive attitude; must be 21+

Qualifications

• 3 years restaurant experience and/or 2 years’ experience bartending in a similar establishment.
• Extensive knowledge of Spirits, Wine and Food.
• Excellent customer service skills and a Positive attitude are required.
• Ability to read and write in English proficiently.
• Must be 21 years of age and possess Tips and Food Handlers cards.
• All Palmetto Bluff employees who serve alcohol or oversee employees who serve alcohol must obtain or hold a SC-approved Alcohol Server Training Certificate (company reimbursed).

Responsibilities

• Follow Food & Beverage sequence of service per venue standards.
• Sell and deliver non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages and menu items while keeping bar clean.
• Anticipate guests’ needs and respond with urgency.
• Maintain/clean all equipment and follow health department procedures.
• Work as a team and communicate with management and staff to address guest needs.

Job Summary

The Bartender position will require you to interact one on one with the guests, take their orders, make cocktails utilizing company service standards, and ensure guest satisfaction. You will be responsible for maintaining an issued cash bank throughout your shift. You will also be actively marketing yourself and the establishment through various social media outreach and staff outings. This role will contribute to the organization as an active business partner that is responsible for supporting the company's goals, objectives, vision, mission, and values.

Essential Job Functions

Job duties include; although are not limited to:

• Consistently following Food & Beverage sequence of service utilizing all proper procedures standardized by venue managers and chefs
• Exhibiting proper knowledge, selling techniques and service delivery of both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, and any menu items offered while maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the bar
• Anticipating the guests’ needs and responding appropriately with a sense of urgency
• Cleaning of all equipment, tools, and supplies and maintaining equipment in good working order while following all procedures and policies set forth by the company, division, department and County health department.
• Working as a team and effectively communicating with management, bartenders and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and/or other Associates.

Qualifications

• 3 years restaurant experience and/or 2 years’ experience bartending in a similar establishment. Must have extensive knowledge of Spirits, Wine and Food
• Must possess good attitude, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure
• Excellent customer service skills and a Positive attitude are required
• Ability to read and write in English proficiently
• Must have basic math skills and be able to use a calculator
• Must be 21 years of age and possess Tips and Food Handlers cards
• All Palmetto Bluff employees who serve alcohol or who oversee employees who serve alcohol must obtain or hold a valid SC-approved Alcohol Server Training Certificate (company reimbursed).

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks.
• Must be physically able to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment as well as delicate china and glassware. Up to 50 lbs.
• Must be physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces for an extended period of time.
• This position requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.
