Job summary

Palmetto Bluff is a premier resort in the Lowcountry of South Carolina. The Bartender will take orders, craft cocktails per service standards, and maintain a cash bank while ensuring guest satisfaction.

The role requires knowledge of spirits, wine, and food, along with excellent customer service and English proficiency. Benefits include employer contributions toward medical, dental, vision, a 401(k) with match, life and disability coverage.

Qualifications

• 2 years restaurant experience and/or 2 years’ experience bartending in a similar establishment.
• Must have extensive knowledge of spirits, wine, and food.
• Must possess good attitude, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent customer service skills and a positive attitude are required.
• Ability to read and write in English proficiently.
• Must have basic math skills and be able to use a calculator.
• Must be 21 years of age and possess Tips and Food Handlers cards.
• All Palmetto Bluff employees who serve alcohol or who oversee employees who serve alcohol must obtain or hold a valid SC-approved Alcohol Server Training Certificate (company reimbursed).

Responsibilities

• Consistently following the Food & Beverage sequence of service utilizing all proper procedures standardized by venue managers and chefs.
• Exhibiting proper knowledge, selling techniques, and service delivery of both non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, and any menu items offered while maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the bar and surrounding area.
• Anticipating the guests’ needs and responding appropriately with a sense of urgency.
• Cleaning of all equipment, tools, and supplies and maintaining equipment in good working order while following all procedures and policies set forth by the company, division, department, and County health department.
• Working as a team and effectively communicating with management, bartenders, and service staff to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and/or other Associates.

Job Summary:

The Bartender position will require you to interact one on one with the guests, take their orders, make cocktails utilizing company service standards, and ensure guest satisfaction. You will be responsible for maintaining an issued cash bank throughout your shift. This role will contribute to the organization as an active business partner that is responsible for supporting the company's goals, objectives, vision, mission, and values.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, and stretch to fulfill tasks.
• Must be physically able to lift and carry heavy trays and equipment as well as delicate china and glassware, up to 50 lbs.
• Must be physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces for an extended period.
• This position requires manual dexterity, grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, and climbing.
