Job summary

Matchbox is seeking a skilled Bartender to craft innovative cocktails and deliver exceptional guest experiences in a fast-paced bar environment. You will engage with guests, suggest drinks, and ensure smooth service while maintaining a clean, organized bar area.

The role requires at least 6 months of bartending or guest service experience, the ability to work well under pressure, and certification in responsible alcohol service in accordance with local laws.

Responsibilities

• Craft and serve a wide range of unique and delicious cocktails, showcasing your mixology skills and attention to detail
• Engage with guests, recommending drinks and providing exceptional customer service to create a memorable experience
• Maintain a clean and organized bar area, ensuring all tools and ingredients are readily available and properly stocked
• Collaborate with the kitchen and other staff members to coordinate food and beverage service and ensure guest satisfaction
• Adhere to all safety and health regulations, including responsible alcohol service and proper handling of glassware and bar equipment

Qualifications

• A minimum of 6 months experience.
• Able to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
• Able to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Must be of legal age to prepare, serve, and ring alcoholic beverages.
• Able to work flexible shifts and schedules, inclusive of weekends, and some holidays.
• Certified in (or able to be certified in) responsible alcohol service (as required by state or local law).
• Able to communicate effectively in the primary language of the work location (verbal and written).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
• Frequent bending, reaching, twisting, and repetitive arm and hand movements.
• Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 30–40 pounds (e.g., kegs, ice bins, cases).
• Manual dexterity to pour, mix, garnish, and handle glassware safely.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Tolerance for exposure to noise, crowded spaces, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to multitask efficiently and respond quickly to customer needs.
