Job summary

Aramark at Arizona State University Athletics in Tempe seeks a Bartender Lead to deliver exceptional service from guest seating to departure. You will display hospitality, product knowledge and beverage accuracy while managing money handling and bar operations.

The role requires knowledge of cocktails, POS systems and certified food and alcohol handling. Candidates should be 18+ with strong communication and a friendly approach to a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum two years full service bartending experience preferred.
• Extensive knowledge of cocktails and restaurant POS systems.
• A valid Food Handler Certificate and Alcohol Server Certification are required.
• Good communication and social skills for fast paced environment.
• Must be 18+ to ring alcoholic sales on a register.

Responsibilities

• Check patrons' identification to ensure minimum age for alcohol.
• Prepare bar setup for service.
• Maintain accurate bar inventory.
• Handle credit card sales accurately.
• Close out checks when paid.
• Assist in set-up and break-down of bar equipment.
• Serve and/or sell alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Maintain a cheerful demeanor while on duty.
• Inventory stand sheet items and initial bar paperwork.
• Calculate cash at end of shift and return bank to cash room.
• Perform any other tasks assigned by management.
• Execute opening and closing duties as assigned.

Job Description

Responsible for providing exceptional customer service from the moment guests sits down until they leave the establishment. Display phenomenal hospitality, friendliness, and complete food and beverage knowledge. Responsible for money handling, beverage pouring, and dispensing policies as well as providing servers drinks at the service well.

Job Responsibilities

• Check patrons' identification in order to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages and following safe drinking guidelines when serving customers.
• Prepare needed set-up for bar.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of the bar including counting beer, bottled liquor, wine, cups, mixers, sodas, general bar supplies, etc.
• Accurate credit card sales handling.
• Close out every check once it has been paid.
• Assist in the set-up and break-down of bar equipment as needed.
• Serve and/or sell alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Maintain a cheerful demeanor while on duty.
• Inventory all stand sheet items prior to and at the end of each event and initial all bar paperwork.
• Calculate cash at the end of shift and return bank to the cash room.
• Any other task assigned by management will be considered part of the job.
• Opening and closing duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of sophisticated mixed drink recipes and restaurant point of sales computer systems.
• A valid Food Handler Certificate and Alcohol Server Certification are required. Candidates who do not currently hold these certifications must obtain them before their start date.
• Good communication and social skills. Ability to work in a fast paced environment with emphasis on customer service, basic math and counting skills.
• Ability to pour mixed drinks and draft beer.
• Must be 18 years of age or older to ring alcoholic sales on a register. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective equipment (PPE).
