Job summary

The Harrison Group seeks a Bartender to join our hospitality team. You will receive orders, prepare and serve drinks, maintain bar cleanliness, and ensure responsible service at our Ocean City and nearby locations.

Role requires mixology training and at least one year of experience; you will handle payments, verify ages, and keep the bar stocked with an eye for presentation.

Qualifications

• Must have completed mixology, barkeeping, or related training.
• At least one year of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receives orders from patrons and wait staff.
• Prepares and serves liquor, mixed drinks, wine, beer and nonalcoholic drinks as ordered.
• Ensures garnishes are prepared before bar opening.
• Maintains the bar and keeps it clean and organized.
• Attractively displays glasses and liquor bottles.
• Keeps bar stocked.
• Ensures customers are of legal drinking age by checking IDs.
• Collects money for drinks and handles payments.
• Uses judgment to refuse service to intoxicated or disruptive patrons.
• Submits orders or creates requisition forms for liquor, beer, and bar supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Receives orders from patrons and wait staff.
• Prepares and serves liquor, mixed drinks, wine, beer, and nonalcoholic drinks as ordered.
• Ensures that fruit and other garnishes are prepared before the bar's opening.
• Maintains the bar and keeps it clean and organized.
• Attractively displays glasses and liquor bottles.
• Keeps bar stocked.
• Ensures that customers are of legal drinking age by checking photo IDs.
• Collects money from customers for drinks prepared and served.
• Uses proper judgment and, when necessary, refuses service to patrons who are intoxicated or disruptive.
• Submits orders or creates requisition forms for liquor, beer, and other bar-related supplies.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Extensive knowledge of drink preparation or service.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and focus on serving customers.
• Ability to remain calm when dealing with unruly and argumentative patrons.
• Ability to learn cash register software used by bar or restaurant.

Education and Experience:

• Completion of mixology, barkeeping, or other related training required.
• At least one year of related experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods standing and preparing drinks.
• Ability to complete orders quickly and accurately.
• Must be able to lift at least 25 pounds.
• Must be legal drinking age or older.
