Job summary

Guy Fieri's Smokehouse Louisville in Louisville, KY is seeking an energetic bartender to join our high-volume bar team.

You will mix cocktails, serve wine and beer, take beverage orders, and present current promotions while maintaining professionalism and guest focus.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of experience, fluent English, strong communication, and availability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Knowledge of liquor brands and garnishes is a must; certifications are a plus.

Qualifications

• At least 1–2 years of bartending at high-volume bars or nightclubs.
• Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, and garnishments.
• Formal bartending training preferred.
• Must speak fluent English; additional languages preferred.
• Strong communication with guests, cooks, wait staff, and supervisors.
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local/state law.
• Reading and writing abilities used for orders and paperwork.
• Mathematical skills used for POS, billing and counting cash tips.
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Mix ingredients and prepare cocktails and other drinks according to recipes.
• Serve wine, bottled or draft beer, and other beverages.
• Take beverage orders from serving staff or guests and ensure accuracy.
• Communicate effectively with guests and co-workers; upsell food and beverage items.
• Present and encourage current promotions to guests.
• Accurately record orders, process payments, and account for sales and tips.
• Check guests’ identification to ensure minimum age requirements.
• Maintain bar area cleanliness and complete side work as assigned.

Description

Award winning chef, restaurateur, author and TV personality, Guy Fieri, brings his new dining concept, Guy Fieri’s Smokehouse, to Fourth Street Live! Inducted into the American Royal BBQ Hall of Fame in 2012, Guy Fieri’s passion for BBQ is heavily influenced in this flagship location. The restaurant features 6,700 square feet of dining space, a 2,200 square foot outdoor patio, a large smoker custom made by Ole Hickory and one bar.

Bartender Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Provide an energetic, outgoing, fun personality while maintaining professionalism.
• Perform varied duties to ensure all aspects of the proper steps of service.
• Offer polite, professional, and courteous customer service.
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and guests.
• Mix ingredients and prepare cocktails and other drinks according to drink recipe.
• Serve wine, and bottled or draft beer.
• Take beverage orders from serving staff or from guests.
• Communicate effectively, clearly, patient and humorously with co-workers and guests.
• Complete all side work as assigned.
• Be well-versed in the products in order to guide the guest experience and sell food and beverage items.
• Check guests’ identification to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption.
• Present and encourage current promotions to guests.
• Accurately record and account for all items ordered and secure payment from guest.
• Accurately account for all sales and receipts and record tips as outlined in company policies and procedures.

Bartender Qualifications

• At least 1-2 years experience with bartending at high volume bars and/or nightclubs.
• Knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, designated glassware, preparation methods and garnishments.
• Formal bartending training preferred.
• Must speak fluent English, other languages preferred.
• Communication skills are utilized a significant amount of time when interacting with guests, cooks, wait staff, and supervisors.
• Alcohol awareness certification and/or food service permit or valid health/food handler card as required by local or state government agency.
• Reading and writing abilities are utilized often when taking orders, completing paperwork, etc.
• Mathematical skills, including basic math are used frequently.
• May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

T h e Bartender position requires the ability to perform the following:

• Handling, carrying or lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds (bar ware, boxes, bottles, ect.).
• Moving about the bar, lounge, and kitchen efficiently and safely.
• Handling food, objects, products and utensils effectively and safely.
