Job summary

Inn at Bay Harbor is seeking a Cabana Bartender for the seasonal bar area on the Lake Michigan shore. You will provide upbeat, friendly service while preparing and serving beverages to guests, working closely with Cabana Servers to ensure smooth operations.

Applicants must be 18+ years old and have a High School diploma or GED; ServSafe certification is required or obtainable on hire. Weekend, weeknight and holiday availability is required, with a strong focus on guest service and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests and ensure they feel valued during their visit.
• Answer questions about food and beverage offerings and preparation.
• Mix and serve beverages, directly or via Cabana servers.
• Maintain sanitary, safe food handling procedures.
• Perform all necessary side work and keep the bar area clean.
• Assist fellow bartenders, servers and bus staff as needed.
• Prepare final bill, process payments, and reconcile guest checks.

The Cabana Bartender is a full or part-time seasonal position. The Cabana Bartender will provide upbeat, positive, friendly, and exceptional service to every guest who approaches the bar area while mixing and serving beverages for guests. Candidate must also possess ability to handle a variety of tasks/requests at one time, and the ability to deal with a diverse set of individuals. A team player mentality is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Welcome, greet and make guests feel comfortable and valued for the duration of their visit


• Accurately answer questions regarding the food and beverage products we offer, as well as how such products are prepared


• Serve and mix beverages for guests, directly or through Cabana Servers


• Practice safe/sanitary food handling procedures


• Perform all necessary side work


• Maintain cleanliness of bar area


• Assist fellow bartenders, servers and bus persons as situations arise and/or tables require clearing or resetting


• Prepare final bill, present check to guest, properly reconcile guest payment


• Check identification of guests to verify age requirement prior to serving alcohol


• Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment


• Exhibit sound and accurate judgment and problem solving skills


• Stock bar with appropriate supplies


• Attempt to limit liability related to guest intoxication

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years old


• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training expected


• Must either possess ServSafe certification or obtain it upon hire


• Must be available weekends, weeknights, and holidays
