Job summary

Inn at Bay Harbor, a Boyne Resorts property on Lake Michigan, is seeking a Cabana Bartender for the season. You will provide upbeat, friendly service at the bar, mixing and serving beverages and ensuring guest satisfaction in a dynamic setting.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, answering questions about beverages, serving, ensuring safe handling, maintaining bar cleanliness, handling payments, and coordinating with servers.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years old.
• High school diploma or GED; or 1–3 months related experience and/or training expected.
• ServSafe certification or obtain it upon hire.
• Must be available weekends, weeknights, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Welcome, greet and make guests feel comfortable and valued for the duration of their visit.
• Accurately answer questions regarding the food and beverage products we offer, as well as how such products are prepared.
• Serve and mix beverages for guests, directly or through Cabana Servers.
• Practice safe/sanitary food handling procedures.
• Perform all necessary side work
• Maintain cleanliness of bar area
• Assist fellow bartenders, servers and bus persons as situations arise and/or tables require clearing or resetting
• Prepare final bill, present check to guest, properly reconcile guest payment
• Check identification of guests to verify age requirement prior to serving alcohol
• Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment
• Exhibit sound and accurate judgment and problem solving skills
• Stock bar with appropriate supplies
• Attempt to limit liability related to guest intoxication

The Cabana Bartender is a full or part-time seasonal position. The Cabana Bartender will provide upbeat, positive, friendly, and exceptional service to every guest who approaches the bar area while mixing and serving beverages for guests. Candidate must also possess ability to handle a variety of tasks/requests at one time, and the ability to deal with a diverse set of individuals. A team player mentality is mandatory.
