POSITION SUMMARY

A Bartender is someone who provides hospitable service while crafting specialty cocktails for our guests and creating an excellent experience from the moment the guests enter the building till the moment they leave. The Bartender may have elevated knowledge as a mixologist, sommelier, and will assist with growing the beverage program and assisting management in day-to-day operations.

REPORTS TO: Guest Experience Manager and Assistant Guest Experience Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

Duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

1. Interacting with guests in a welcoming, personable, and professional manner.
2. Taking orders and preparing both alcoholic beverages and food items.
3. Presenting bills, accepting payments, and operating the POS system.
4. Ability to remain calm while listening to guest concerns and complaints.
5. Restocking and replenishing inventory as the shift progresses.
6. Complying with all food and beverage regulations and procedures.
7. Understanding day-to-day store operations and having keys to the facility if they are needed to open and close.
8. Working closely with the Experience Managers, following their opening, and closing procedures of the coffee house while they’re absent.
9. Being a rad co-worker, teammate, and leader, while remaining empowered to make decisions.
10. Assuring the guests' five senses are satisfied: good smells, clean tables, tasty drinks, great music, and a clean, vibin’ atmosphere.
11. Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

1. Must be 21 years or older.
2. Ability to maintain a flexible schedule with daytime and evening shifts.
3. Eagerness to learn and expand on beverage knowledge.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
5. Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
6. Effective time management skills to manage a busy work environment. The ability to schedule and organize multiple jobs is critical.
7. Ability to lift, stand, and reach for the entirety of the scheduled shift.
8. Ability to handle cash and manage the register.
