Job summary

Fairmont Kea Lani in Maui is seeking a Bartender Assistant to support the lobby lounge, Pilina, connecting guests to cuisine and beverages inspired by our island culture. Provide impeccable service and ensure high bar standards.

Knowledge of beverages and mixology, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills are essential. This role offers an hourly rate of $22.60 and opportunities for growth within the property.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English.

Responsibilities

  • Provide beverage service within Fairmont standards.
  • Adhere to daily checklists and duties.
  • Prepare for bar service, including stocking liquor, beer and wine.
  • Create storeroom requisitions and stock bars and service stations.
  • Prepare garnishes, syrups, fresh juices, and other prep for daily service.
  • Use culinary skills to prepare garnishes, infusions, syrups, and other elements for cocktails.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of bar ingredients, spirits, and supplies; manage ordering and replenishment as needed.
  • Ensure items are fresh and of high quality.
  • Set up bar and service stations with necessary equipment and replenish supplies.
  • Maintain glassware supplies by washing and polishing as required.
  • Deliver high-quality products and engaging service to create an exceptional F&B experience.
  • Keep bar area clean and equipment functional.
  • Manage recycling and proper disposal of bottles and waste.
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods for all F&B venues on property.
  • Adhere to Hawaii health standards for food handling.
  • Organize time to complete side work according to shift demand.
  • Maintain an aloha spirit with engaging, personalized, timely, and efficient service.
  • Focus on guest needs while remaining calm and courteous.

Position

As a Bartender Assistant in our lobby lounge, Pilina, you will be a hospitality ambassador connecting guests to cuisine and libations inspired by our diverse culture and island home. You will support the bartending team to ensure an impeccable dining experience. Your attention to detail, organizational skills, and passion for mixology will help maintain high standards for our bar operation.

Hourly rate: $22.60

Your responsibilities

Responsible for providing beverage service within Fairmont and Leading Quality Assurance (LQA) standards. Areas of responsibility include:

  • Adhere to daily checklists and duties
  • Prepare for bar service, including stocking liquor, beer and wine
  • Create storeroom requisitions and stock bars and service stations
  • Prepare garnishes, syrups, fresh juices, and other prep for daily service
  • Use culinary skills to prepare garnishes, infusions, syrups, and other elements for cocktails
  • Maintain an organized inventory of bar ingredients, spirits, and supplies; manage ordering and replenishment as needed
  • Ensure items are fresh and of high quality
  • Set up bar and service stations with necessary equipment and replenish supplies (alcohol, garnishes, ice, dishes, utensils)
  • Maintain glassware supplies by washing and polishing as required
  • Deliver high-quality products and engaging service to create an exceptional F&B experience
  • Keep bar area clean and equipment functional
  • Manage recycling and proper disposal of bottles and waste
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items, garnishes, contents and preparation methods for all F&B venues on property
  • Adhere to the State of Hawaii and Environmental Health standards for food handling
  • Organize time to complete side work according to shift demand
  • Maintain an aloha spirit with engaging, personalized, timely, and efficient service
  • Focus on guest needs while remaining calm and courteous
Your experience and skills

Education

  • Basic knowledge of beverages, mixology techniques, and drink recipes
Licenses or Certificates
  • TB clearance
  • Maui County liquor card
  • Food Safety or ServSafe certification
