About Afterwords Wine Bar

Located on property at Chautauqua Institution, Afterwords Wine Bar offers indoor and outdoor seating, serving hearty handhelds and Mediterranean dishes paired with wines. Open during the summer season from Sunday to Wednesday 11:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Thursday to Saturday 11:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Compensation

This position pays $10.35/hour plus tipped earnings. Employees working in non-tipped capacities for 20%+ of their shift, attending required events, or not meeting minimum wage with tips will be paid a minimum of $15.50/hour.

Work Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of beer, wine, and liquor.
• Prepare mixed drinks according to hotel standards.
• Receive and prepare beverage orders from staff.
• Service guests efficiently at fast-paced bars.
• Clean glasses, utensils, and the bar area.
• Restock beer, wine, and glassware as needed.
• Use POS system to track orders and report sales.
• Manage complimentary, unwanted, or lost beverages.
• Understand NYS liquor laws.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Referral Program

Refer a candidate who is hired and stays for at least 90 days (or 30 days for seasonal positions) to receive a $500 bonus, less taxes.

Schedule

Flexible seasonal schedules starting each June through August, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Typical shifts range from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., lasting six or eight hours.

Housing

Limited on-site housing may be available; otherwise, candidates are responsible for their own housing arrangements.
