Job summary

Sonesta International Hotels is seeking a friendly, guest-focused Bartender to join our vibrant bars and lounges. You will craft cocktails, recommend menu items, and deliver memorable beverage experiences in a fast-paced setting.

We value service-driven team players with a passion for hospitality, strong communication, and the ability to multitask during peak periods. TABC and Food Handler certifications are required to ensure responsible service.

Qualifications

• Previous bartending, restaurant, or hotel experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, and responsible alcohol service.
• TABC and Food Handler certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve beverages per recipes and guest preferences.
• Provide exceptional guest service and create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Maintain knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits.
• Operate POS systems and handle cash transactions accurately.
• Assist with bar setup, inventory, and opening/closing duties.
• Follow food safety and responsible alcohol service guidelines.
• Collaborate with servers and F&B leadership to ensure smooth operations.
• Support upselling initiatives and beverage programs.

What you'll be doing

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes, brand standards, and guest preferences.
• Provide exceptional guest service by engaging with guests, making recommendations, and creating a welcoming atmosphere.
• Maintain strong knowledge of cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and beverage menus.
• Operate efficiently during high-volume restaurant, lounge, banquet, and event service periods.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and resolve guest concerns professionally and promptly.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation standards across bar and service areas.
• Accurately process orders, payments, tabs, and transactions using POS systems.
• Assist with bar setup, inventory, garnishes, stock replenishment, and opening/closing duties.
• Follow food safety guidelines, responsible alcohol service standards, and hotel operational procedures.
• Partner closely with Servers, Culinary teams, and Food & Beverage leadership to support smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
• Support upselling initiatives, promotions, and beverage programs that drive guest engagement and revenue.
• Any other duties as assigned.

What great looks like

• Previous bartending, restaurant, hotel, lounge, nightlife, or hospitality experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and responsible alcohol service practices.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Experience using POS systems and handling cash transactions accurately.
• Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and presentation standards.
• Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, holidays, and event support as needed.
• TABC Certification, Food Handler Certification are required.
• A passion for hospitality, teamwork, guest experience, and creating memorable food & beverage moments.
