Job summary

Wind Creek Hospitality is seeking a Bartender for evening shifts to mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages to guests at gaming machines or bar areas within the gaming facilities.

The role requires knowledge of cocktails, drink recipes, glassware, and garnish, with emphasis on guest engagement, upselling, and maintaining clean work areas. Training in Responsible Vendor, TIPS, and ServeSafe is required.

Responsibilities

  • Takes orders from guests and Servers.
  • Maintains knowledge of menu items, liquor brands, beers, and mixers to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
  • Maintains knowledge of glassware and garnish for each drink.
  • Greets guests and uses suggestive selling and upselling techniques.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of bars and equipment.

Job Overview: SHIFT: 5:30pm-2:00am (Shift subject to change based on business needs)

The Bartender shall mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to customers seated at Gaming Machines or bar areas throughout the gaming facilities

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Takes orders from guests and Servers
  • Maintains complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, non-alcoholic selections, specials and mixes ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks
  • Maintains a complete awareness of cocktail and drink recipes and production methods
  • Maintains a complete knowledge of designated glassware and garnish for each drink
  • Maintains knowledgeable of different types of alcoholic beverages and their methods of production
  • Inspects cleanliness and condition of assigned stations and associated public space and rectifies any deficiencies
  • Greets guests and takes orders utilizing suggestive selling and up-selling techniques
  • Utilizes Call Order procedures when preparing orders for Servers
  • Continuously maintains cleanliness and organization of bars, bottle displays, coolers and station equipment
  • Replaces ashtrays with two (2) cigarette butts, utilizing the “capping” method
  • Other duties & responsibilities as assigned
Job Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED required or currently enrolled and successfully complete a GED program within six (6) months from start date as a condition of continued employment
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older
  • One (1) year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience- required
  • OR six (6) months’ experience within the Beverage Department at WCH- required
  • Willingness and ability to lift and maneuver a minimum of fifty (50) pounds
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, in English, effectively both verbally and in writing, and understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram formats
  • Must successfully pass job interview, including a guest service audition
  • Must successfully complete Responsible Vendor Alcoholic Beverage Service, and TIPS training
  • Must successfully complete ServeSafe Sanitation training
  • Willing and able to work odd or irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required
  • Must have a Tribal Gaming License (or the ability to obtain and maintain a license) as a requirement for this position
  • Must have willingness and ability to work in a smoke/secondary smoke environment
