Job summary

Tarantula Hill in Thousand Oaks, CA is hiring a beertender to greet guests, pour house-brewed beers, take food orders, and ensure guests leave happy.

You will input orders, manage tabs, and handle cash or card payments via our POS system while keeping the bar clean and compliant with health and safety standards. Grow with a team that loves beer and great service.

About the Role
Beertenders are the face of Tarantula Hill — the first “hello” and the last “cheers!” our guests experience. You’ll be slinging pints of our house-brewed beer, chatting with customers, taking food orders, and making sure every guest leaves happy (and maybe with a crowler in hand). If you’re fast on your feet, love talking beer, and are all about great service, we want to meet you.
What You’ll Be Doing

• Greet guests with energy and keep the vibe positive
• Serve beers with care — correct glassware, clean pours, fresh lines
• Know our house and guest beers, food menu, and weekly specials
• Input orders, manage tabs, handle cash/card/keg deposits via our POS system
• Keep the bar clean, stocked, and up to health & safety standards
• Monitor alcohol service, follow all local/state laws, and know when to cut off service
• Communicate with your team and manager to keep things smooth
• Help troubleshoot basic issues with kegs, lines, or taps to keep beer flowing

Who We’re Looking For:

• Craft beer fans — experience helps, passion is essential
• Team players who thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy environment
• Strong communicators who can multitask and keep cool under pressure
• 21+ years old
• Able to lift 50 lbs (yes, kegs are heavy)
• POS system experience is a plus
• Comfortable managing tough customer situations with professionalism and positivity
• Knowledge of food allergens and ability to explain menu items clearly
• Bonus points for basic draft system/keg knowledge
