Job summary

Straz Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Tampa is seeking a part-time Bartender to join the team. You will prepare and serve beverages, handle a POS system, maintain bar cleanliness, and assist with inventory and garnishes.

The role requires flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment. Requires 21+ and knowledge of beer, wine, and liquor. High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and some holidays.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes.
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
• Use POS system to ring orders and accurately maintain inventory.
• Wash and sterilize glassware.
• Prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish snacks and appetizers for bar patrons.
• Present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding beverages.
• Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas.
• Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies

Located in downtown Tampa, the Straz offers flexible hours, event-based schedules including evenings and weekends, and a team-based work environment. Straz benefits for part-time staff include employee discounts and a 403(b) plan.

The Bartender is responsible for serving beverages to Center guests.

Essential Functions:

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
• Use POS system to ring orders and accurately maintain inventory.
• Wash and sterilize glassware.
• Prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish snacks and appetizers for bar patrons.
• Present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding beverages.
