Job summary

The Straz Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Tampa invites you to join as a Bartender. The role offers flexible hours with evenings and weekends and a team-oriented environment on-site. You will prepare and serve drinks, operate the POS, keep glassware clean, and help maintain bar inventory.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
• Use POS system to ring orders and maintain inventory.
• Wash and sterilize glassware.
• Prepare garnishes and replenish snacks for bar patrons.
• Present drink menus and answer beverage questions.
• Maintain cleanliness of bar counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage.

Job description

Be a Star at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts! Located in downtown Tampa, the Straz offers flexible hours, event-based schedules including evenings and weekends, and a team-based work environment. Straz benefits for part-time staff include employee discounts and a 403(b) plan.

The Bartender is responsible for serving beverages to Center guests.

Essential Functions

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks.
• Use POS system to ring orders and accurately maintain inventory.
• Wash and sterilize glassware.
• Prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish snacks and appetizers for bar patrons.
• Present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer questions regarding beverages.
• Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas.
• Assist the restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Working knowledge of beer, wine and liquor and common drink recipes.
• Must possess basic math skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Education And Work Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
