Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with ABC laws and health regulations.
  • Assist in ordering liquor, beer, wine, mixers, and snacks.
  • Perform month-end inventories.

Job Location: Secession Golf Club - Beaufort, SC 29907



Job Duties and Responsibilities


  • Inspects bar before opening to ensure adequate supplies are available

  • Follows set-up procedures

  • Prepares garnishes, mixes and pre-mixed drink.

  • Greets guests upon arrival

  • Mixes, prepares, and serves drinks according to recipes approved by Food and Beverage Director

  • Reports complaints to a manager as soon as they occur

  • Maintains and cleans equipment

  • Maintains records of liquors, beers, wine, tobacco and sundries to ensure par stock is maintained at all times

  • Monitors daily inventory and usage to see which drinks and liquors are in the greatest demand

  • Cleans and locks up according to prescribed procedures

  • Ensures all cash is kept in a safe and secure manner at all times

  • Cleans all facilities and supplies used according to all Department of Health and Environment Control (DHEC) standards.

  • Ensures that all functions where alcohol is to be served are operated in accordance with the ABC Laws and all subsequent amendments

  • Complies with all state and local laws pertaining to the sales and distribution of alcoholic beverages

  • Participates in the ordering of liquor, beer, wine, soda, mixers, snacks and tobacco products

  • Performs month end inventories

  • Maintains Sales Sheet and product levels for outside cooler areas (half-way house and 16th tee)

  • Conducts inventories prior to and after tournaments

  • Stocks cottages with requested beverages as needed

  • Assists in arranging local transportation for members and guests.

  • Takes food and beverage orders of members and guests as needed

  • Clears tables of soiled dishes and washes dishes as needed

  • Other duties as assigned



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities


  • High School diploma, GED or equivalent

  • Current valid SC Driver's License

  • Prior bartending experience and current Bartending licensing/ TIPS certification preferred

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to follow sanitation procedures

  • Extensive knowledge of drink preparation or service

  • Ability to remain calm when dealing with unruly and argumentative patrons

  • Must be able to work extended hours, to include weekends and holidays as needed

  • Must be able to work on multiple assignments at a time with frequent interruptions, changes, delays, and stressful situations. Must be able to stay focused and work effectively, efficiently and cheerfully under such circumstances
