Welcome to Fripp Island - A Coastal Paradise.

Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort is located on Fripp Island, South Carolina, a 3500-acre private island located at the end of U.S. Highway 21 South. It is the last inhabited island in a chain of islands leading from historic Beaufort to the Atlantic Ocean. During the summer, we are in full swing with Resort guests checking in and out every week. In the offseason, we see golf groups, many weddings, and winter renters.

Job Description

Fripp Island Golf & Beach Resort is preparing to open the newly reimagined Beach Club Restaurant- and we are building an exceptional team to bring it to life.

Located in the heart of Fripp Island's Beach Club complex, this new restaurant will combine a relaxed coastal setting with warm, attentive hospitality and consistently excellent food and beverage experiences. More than a restaurant opening, this is an opportunity to help establish the culture, service standards, and traditions of a destination our members and resort guests will enjoy for years to come.

We are seeking energetic, dependable, and hospitality-minded people for culinary, service, bar, support, and leadership positions. Whether you are an experienced hospitality professional or looking to grow your career, you will receive hands-on training and the opportunity to become part of a team built around respect, teamwork, accountability, and genuine care for our guests.

Opening a restaurant is a unique experience. Every team member plays a part in shaping how we work, how we serve, and how our guests feel. If you take pride in your work, enjoy creating memorable experiences, and want to help build something special from the beginning, we invite you to apply and join the opening team at the new Beach Club.

Responsibilities
  • Welcome members and guests and deliver attentive bar service.
  • Prepare approved cocktails, beer, wine, and nonalcoholic beverages exactly to established recipes and pours.
  • Operate the bar and service well accurately and efficiently.
  • Set up, stock, organize, clean, and close the assigned station.
  • Use Toast accurately for orders, tabs, checks, member charges, and payments.
  • Handle cash, credit-card transactions, checkout, and tip procedures according to policy.
  • Follow responsible-alcohol-service, ID-verification, intoxication-monitoring, and refusal procedures.
  • Maintain accurate beverage, food, allergen, and pricing knowledge.
  • Report shortages, replenishment needs, spills, breakage, waste, and equipment concerns to management.
  • Do not order products or change products, recipes, pours, pricing, or the beverage program.
  • Work across trained bars, restaurant outlets, banquets, and events based on seasonal and business needs.
  • Perform other reasonable duties related to the position, training, and operational needs.
Qualifications
  • Previous professional bartending experience is required.
  • Strong hospitality, beverage knowledge, speed, organization, communication, and guest-recovery skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to execute standardized cocktail recipes and responsible pours accurately.
  • Experience with restaurant POS, cash, checks, tabs, and credit-card procedures; Toast experience is preferred.
  • Approved alcohol-service certification required within 90 days of hire.
  • Ability to work calmly and accurately in a high-volume environment.
  • No degree requirement and no fixed minimum number of years beyond demonstrated relevant experience.
  • Hourly, non-exempt, tipped position; full-time, part-time, or seasonal schedules may be available based on assignment.
  • Availability may include days, evenings, weekends, holidays, peak seasonal periods, banquets, and special events.
  • Work location and schedule may change based on bar, outlet, event, and resort needs.

Bartenders who demonstrate exceptional hospitality, responsible alcohol service, consistent recipe execution, financial accuracy, reliability, and leadership potential may be considered for advancement to Assistant Restaurant Manager as opportunities become available.

Additional Duties

The responsibilities listed above are not exhaustive. Team members may be assigned other duties reasonably related to their position, training, operational needs, seasonal business, events, and the evolving requirements of Fripp Island Golf Club & Resort.

Requirements

To be considered, applicants must demonstrate they meet the following requirements:

  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, grasping, shaking, pouring, and repetitive bar activity.
  • Ability to lift and move customary beverage cases, kegs with assistance and approved equipment, glass racks, ice, and supplies safely.
  • Ability to work safely around glass, ice, wet floors, chemicals, bar equipment, crowded service areas, and outdoor venues.
