Job summary

AC Scottsdale Old Town is seeking a professional bartender to prepare and serve beverages, engage with guests, and maintain a clean, well-stocked bar. You will recommend drinks, upsell premium products, and ensure responsible service in line with local laws.

The role requires previous bartending experience, knowledge of spirits, beer and wine, and flexibility to work weekends and holidays. Strong customer service and teamwork are essential in a busy F&B environment.

Qualifications

• Previous bartending experience required.
• Ability to obtain alcohol beverage and/or food service certifications as required by local ordinance.
• Strong knowledge of spirits, beer and wine, and responsible alcohol service required.
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Ability and willingness to work a varied and flexible schedule including weekends, days, nights, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests warmly and take drink and food orders in a timely manner.
• Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and guest preferences.
• Maintain knowledge of food and beverage menus to provide recommendations and upsell premium products.
• Ensure responsible alcohol service, monitoring guest consumption and following local laws.
• Handle guest concerns or complaints with professionalism and resolve issues quickly.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, including counters, sinks, shelves, and glassware.
• Restock liquor, beer, wine, garnishes, mixers, and supplies throughout the shift.
• Properly handle cash, credit card transactions, and POS system functions.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including inventory counts and end-of-shift reports.
• Work collaboratively with servers, barbacks, and food & beverage team members to ensure smooth service.
• Change kegs, replace CO2 tanks, and ensure beverages are served properly.
• Prepare garnishes and stock condiments; replenish ice bins.
• Collect and dispose of trash, maintain hygiene and safety.
• Report maintenance issues or damaged equipment.
• Other duties may be assigned by management.

This role requires a strong knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits to make recommendations to customers. It also requires strong customer service skills and attention to detail to ensure an exceptional guest experience.

Based on the F&B department structure at some hotels other duties may include:

• Preparation of hot or cold food items
• Knowledge of bar food items
• Preparation and clean‑up/sanitization of kitchen food prep areas.
• Rotation of food items to ensure the freshness of products.
