Job summary

COMMONWEALTH LODGING MANAGEMENT LLC seeks a bartender for the Rhythm & Rye Rooftop Bar at Courtyard by Marriott Oxford, MS. The role focuses on mixing cocktails, serving guests, and ensuring a high-energy rooftop experience.

You will manage cash and POS transactions, maintain bar inventory, and work to upsell beverages while adhering to liquor laws and local guidelines. 21+ and prior bartending experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of bartending or F&B experience preferred.
• Knowledge of liquor, wine, beer and cocktails.

Responsibilities

• Mix and serve cocktails according to recipes and standards.

• Recommend menu items and upsell food and beverages.
• Maintain knowledge of drinks and responsible alcohol service.

• Ensure compliance with all state liquor laws and responsible alcohol service
• Handle cash, credit card transactions, and POS systems accurately
• Keep the bar clean, organized, stocked, and guest-ready
• Assist servers and barbacks to ensure seamless service
• Complete opening, closing, inventory, and side work duties
• Help create a fun, welcoming rooftop experience for every guest

QUALIFICATIONS WHAT YOU BRING

• Must be at least 21 years old
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
• Alcohol Awareness Certification preferred
• 1-2 years of Food & Beverage or Bartending experience preferred
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Experience handling cash and operating POS systems preferred
• Knowledge of liquor, wine, beer, and cocktail preparation
• Ability to work in a fast-paced indoor/outdoor environment

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Push or pull up to 150 pounds
• Stand and move for extended periods (up to 8-hour shifts)
• Work in varying weather conditions and noise levels
• Wear flat, closed-toe, non-slip shoes
