Job summary

The Navy Region Northwest Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) division seeks a Bartender to operate a bar serving malt beverages and mixed drinks, and to mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages in assigned areas. You will maintain bar stock, handle cash, and process payments at point-of-sale terminals.

The role requires the ability to stand for long periods, flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays, and a commitment to safety and sanitation training. U.S.

Qualifications

Mixes and serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks.

Duties

Help


  • Serves beer and wine and mixes a variety of drinks to order, following established recipes.

  • Maintains bar stock and is accountable for cash and inventory during the period worked.

  • Operates a point-of-sale system to process and receive payments.

  • Makes change and is accountable for cash fund.

  • Assists in taking inventory and maintaining records.

  • Keeps bar area clean and keeps area stocked properly at all times.

  • Washes bar equipment, glassware, and utensils.

  • May perform other sanitation duties within assigned work area as required.

  • Performs other related duties as required.

  • Successful completion of National Agency Background (NACI) Check required.

  • Available for varying shifts to include some nights, weekends, and holiday may be required.

  • Incumbent required attendance of sanitation training course to obtain valid health card.

  • Must be 21 years of age.

  • Must be able to walk or stand for prolonged periods of time.

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance

  • Frequently handles objects weighing up to 20 lbs and occasionally objects weighing up to 150 lbs



Qualifications

Knowledge and skill to mix and serve beverages from a bar using a variety of liquors, soda, beer and wine. May serve pre-mixed or simple cocktails. Skill to completely set up a bar and to recognize impending shortages of supplies based on the volume of business and ensure their timely replacement. Ability to maintain and collect tabs and operate a point-of-sale system to process payments. Ability to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and to resolve the problem or seek assistance if needed. Must meet and maintain certification for safe alcohol serving and food handling per program standards. Must meet minimum age requirements as required by law.



Additional information

Salary is dependent on experience and/or education. Some positions have special requirements. Selectee may be required to complete a one (1) year probationary period.
