Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Bartender at our Newport, RI location. The role involves mixing and serving drinks quickly, collaborating with waitstaff, and delivering exceptional customer service in a dynamic environment.

This on-call, part-time position offers shifts with varying days and hours, pay range $17-$21 per hour, and a comprehensive benefits package. Applicants must meet local alcohol-service age requirements and have a high school diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; bartending experience preferred.
• Ability to serve alcohol to legal drinking age.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Availability for varying shifts including evenings.

Responsibilities

• Receive customers, mix and serve drinks with and without alcohol and create drink recipes with appropriate garnishes.
• Ensure bar area is fully equipped with tools and products to mix drinks and serve customers.
• Prepare accurate opening counts and issue inventory or purchasing orders as needed to replenish supplies.
• Bartenders must be cordial, diplomatic and attentive when dealing with customers.
• A significant amount of walking or moving around.
• Ability to walk or stand for long periods, throughout a shift that may exceed 8 hours.
• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push and/or pull, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds.
• Must be able to perform repetitive movements.
• Attends work and arrives on time for scheduled shift with sufficient regularity.
• Additional tasks may be assigned and may vary between accounts.
