Sesamo, is a Modern Italian restaurant with Asian influences, located in Hell's Kitchen.We combine traditional American Italian classics and Asian citrus, spices, and techniques,and reinvigorate the style within our quintessential New York neighborhood restaurant environment. Within a short 3 years on the corner of 10th Ave and 52nd Street, we have received rave reviews from Forbes, and was named one of the "Top Restaurants to Try Now in Hell's Kitchen" by Time Out.

We now seek a part-time to full-time bartender to addto our amazing team!

Requirements include attention to detail, organization, strong food / wine / beverage knowledge, a professional demeanor, discretion, and the ability to work as a team player.Must also have verifiable references. Fine dining experience preferred.

Ideal Bartender candidates should have the following :

• 2 years experience as a bartender at a New York fine dining restaurant, high volume experience or cocktail bar.
• Strong spirits knowledge and craft cocktail experience
• Knowledge of standard classic restaurant or fine dining restaurant service procedures
• Knowledge of, or willingness to learn about Italian, Asianand Japanese spirits, liqueurs, and Italian wines
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well in teams
• Ability to use POS system, and efficiently work with processes and systems in place

RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Support daily batches & prep as needed
• Daily garnish production and distribute to bars for service
• Communicate with Lead bartender on orders and counts
• Interact with the team effectively and express genuine hospitality to guests
• Learn menu, beverage descriptions, and allergies
• Cleanliness, stocking and organizing
• Be warm, kind, knowledgeable, and noticeably appreciative
• Accommodate guests by making each individual feel welcome
• Act professional and accommodating and always maintain composure
• Identify and report problems to management immediately
• Be aware of service flow, dining timing, and adjust for each guest’s individual needs
• Manage bar guests with the utmost attention to detail
• Properly carry out restaurant standards, procedures and uphold policies
• Attendmonthly spirits and service training and / or bar meetings

REQUIREMENTS :

• Must have experience in a fast-paced cocktail-centric environment as a Bartender
• Must be able to lift & carry at least 50 pounds
• Must be comfortable with repetitive motions (such as shaking cocktails, bending & standing)
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously
• Must have intermediate or proficient knowledge of spirits, liquors, beer and wine.
• Must be able to take constructive criticisms and work well in a team dynamic
