Job summary

Ameswell in Mountain View, CA is seeking a bartender for a part-time role. You will prepare beverages, interact with guests, and ensure a polished bar experience in line with the hotel’s standards.

The position requires proven bartending experience, a valid bartending certificate, and the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 40 lbs. Weekend availability is a must.

Responsibilities

• Prepares alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for guests
• Interacts with guests, taking orders and serving drinks
• Maintains knowledge of menu, wine list, and beers
• Mixes ingredients to craft cocktails with consistency
• Checks IDs to confirm legal drinking age
• Restocks bar inventory and supplies
• Keeps bar area clean and organized
• Uses the POS system and handles cash transactions
• Maximizes revenue while staying guest-focused

Description

As Bartender, you'll serve food and beverages with real professionalism and warmth — sharing product knowledge, crafting great cocktails, and keeping the bar experience as polished as everything else at Ameswell.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepares alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for bar and restaurant guests
• Interacts with guests, taking orders and serving snacks and drinks
• Assesses guest needs and preferences, making thoughtful recommendations
• Mixes ingredients to prepare cocktails with consistency and care
• Checks guest identification to confirm legal drinking age
• Restocks and replenishes bar inventory and supplies
• Maintains complete knowledge of the dining room/bar menu, wine-by-glass program, beer selection, and liquors
• Uses the POS system efficiently and handles cash responsibly
• Maximizes revenue through proper selling techniques while staying guest-focused
• Keeps all bar areas clean, organized, and presentable, adhering to side-work requirements
• Complies with all food and beverage regulations

Skills, Knowledge and Requirements

• Proven working experience as a bartender
• Excellent knowledge of mixing, garnishing, and serving drinks
• Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
• Relevant bartending or alcohol service training certificate
• Prolonged standing and walking throughout shifts
• Ability to lift and carry trays, dishes, and service items
• Frequent bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling
• Able to lift, push or pull equipment, chemicals, tools, supplies up to 40 lbs.
