Bartender • Job Location: Porta (Montclair, NJ) - Montclair, NJ 07042 • Salary Range: $15.92 - $42.00 Hourly

A bartender at any of the Smith restaurants ensures that guests have an enjoyable experience by providing quality customer service. All bartenders at any Smith restaurant prioritize connecting with guests and their community, and building regulars. Bartenders work in the front of the house preparing and serving drinks and food and keeping an impeccably, well stocked bar area, including liquor room and bar walk-ins.

A bartender at Smith is energetic, confident, has a strong knowledge of alcoholic beverages and time management skills. They can communicate efficiently and effectively with a diverse group of guests. Commitment, enthusiasm, integrity, humility, sense of team, and grace under pressure are required.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Preparing alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for bar and patrons
• Interacting with customers, taking orders, and serving snacks and drinks
• Assessing bar customers’ needs and preferences and making recommendations
• Promoting programming and special events; sharing the story of sister restaurants with their guests
• Checking identification up to ABC and Smith standards
• Restocking and replenishing bar inventory and supplies
• Complying with all food and beverage regulations
• Processing payments
• Properly clocking in and out for shift at kiosk terminal

Qualifications
