Job summary

Cheba Hut "Toasted" Subs in Milwaukee is seeking a Bartender who can craft approachable cocktails, pour local beers, and deliver a welcoming guest experience. You’ll follow bar recipes and keep the bar clean, stocked, and compliant with alcohol laws.

We value a positive, inclusive attitude, teamwork, and genuine guest engagement across bar, lobby, and patio during peak shifts. Must be 21+ and certified; advancement opportunities exist within the franchisee-owned location.

Qualifications

• Previous restaurant or food & beverage experience preferred, but not required.
• Alcohol safety certification required (ServeSafe, TIPS, etc.).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable lifting up to 159 lbs with team lift encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Create a unique bar experience that aligns with Cheba Hut culture and standards.
• Follow bar recipes, SOPs, and product standards consistently.
• Deliver efficient service at the bar, lobby, and patio.
• Build loyal guests through genuine engagement and interaction.
• Uphold alcohol laws, verify IDs, and monitor guest consumption.
• Maintain a clean, stocked and organized bar with proper labeling.

Bartender

As a Bartender, you’ll create a unique bar experience that aligns with Cheba Hut culture and Core Values. You’ll uphold bar standards, follow alcohol laws, and bring a positive, inclusive attitude to every shift. We serve approachable craft cocktails and local beer. This role reports to the General Manager and is accountable to the Bar Manager. Must be 21.

What You’ll Own

Guest Experience & Interaction

Create a unique and enjoyable environment every shift

• Prioritize “interaction over the transaction.”
• Recommend signature cocktails, craft beers, and food menu items
• Deliver efficient service at the bar, lobby, and patio
• Build loyal guests through genuine engagement

Product Quality & Shoperations

• Follow all bar recipes, S.O.P.s, and product standards
• Stay current on drink recipes and brand partners
• Practice F.I.F.O. and proper labeling procedures
• Maintain a clean, stocked, organized bar
• Demonstrate integrity with cash handling and discounts

Safety & Responsibility (we take this seriously)

• Uphold all local and national alcohol laws
• Verify IDs and enforce alcohol service policies
• Monitor guest consumption and act responsibly
• Maintain strong situational awareness
• Complete incident documentation when required

Team Support

• Assist with in-shop orders during peak periods
• Support Expo, phone orders, and Lobby Love
• Maintain beverage stations and prep items
• Jump in where the shop needs you most

What Makes You a Fit

• Previous restaurant or food & beverage experience preferred, but not required

• Comfortable lifting up to a ½ barrel keg (159 lbs, team lift encouraged) Comfortable embracing Cheba Hut’s playful, non-traditional “Toasted” atmosphere
