Job summary

Avvio Millbury, part of Newport Restaurant Group, seeks an experienced bartender in Millbury, MA to craft cocktails and deliver guest-focused service. The role offers a collaborative, employee-owned culture with growth opportunities at a Newport-owned location.

You’ll join a team dedicated to hospitality, great drinks, and a supportive environment that rewards talent and tenure. Training begins in September for the new location opening in early fall.

• Solid bartending experience and a genuine passion for craft – you take pride in what you put in front of a guest.
• A personable, confident presence that makes guests feel like regulars from the very first visit.
• The ability to multitask and stay composed when the bar is three deep and everyone wants something different.
• Knowledge of spirits, wine, and beer – and a curiosity to keep learning.

Responsibilities

• Craft cocktails, pour wine and beer, and prepare beverages to recipe spec with consistency and care.
• Deliver an exceptional bar experience - engaging guests, anticipating needs, and keeping the energy right.
• Manage your bar setup, pars, and inventory so you’re always ready for whatever the shift brings.
• Support the dining room by running bar tabs, processing payments accurately and communicating with the floor team.
• Keep the bar clean, stocked, and compliant with all alcohol service standards.

You don’t need to have invented a cocktail menu to thrive here. You do need:

• Solid bartending experience and a genuine passion for craft – you take pride in what you put in front of a guest
• A personable, confident presence that makes guests feel like regulars from the very first visit
• The ability to multitask and stay composed when the bar is three deep and everyone wants something different
• Knowledge of spirits, wine, and beer - and a curiosity to keep learning

QUALIFICATIONS

On paper, you bring:

• 1+ years of bartending experience in a full-service restaurant or bar setting
• Working knowledge of classic cocktails, wine, and beer, with the confidence to make recommendations
• TIPS or ServSafe Alcohol certification (or willingness to obtain before your first shift)
• Must meet Massachusetts’ minimum age requirement (18+) to serve alcohol
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
