Job summary

Marcus Hotels & Resorts is seeking a Beverage Bartender for Hilton Madison Monona Terrace in Madison, WI. The role supports both part-time and full-time schedules with weekend availability required, earning $8.00 per hour plus tips.

You will craft quality beverages, greet guests, and contribute to a welcoming hospitality experience. Responsibilities include bar setup, beverage prep, POS duties, balance of cash, and adherence to safety and liquor regulations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of beverage preparation, garnishes, and alcohol service fundamentals.
• Basic math skills to operate a register, manage transactions, and balance a cash bank.
• English proficiency (spoken and written) to communicate with guests and complete required documentation.
• Ability to handle bar tools, glassware, and stocked items safely.

Responsibilities

• Set up and stock the bar daily, ensuring beverages, garnishes, and supplies are ready for service.
• Prepare and present beverages for bar guests and restaurant servers following standard recipes and portion guidelines.
• Greet guests warmly, take drink orders, and deliver an engaging bar experience.
• Input orders into the POS system accurately and create checks for all guests to ensure proper accountability.
• Maintain a clean, organized bar and lounge area during shifts.
• Assist guests seated in the bar or lounge and respond promptly to requests.
• Handle payments, make change, and balance the house bank responsibly.
• Safely store beverages, equipment, and cash at shift end.
• Follow health and safety guidelines and liquor regulations; assist with intoxicated guests.

What You’ll Do

• Set up and stock the bar each day, ensuring all beverages, garnishes, and supplies are ready for service

• Handle payments, make change, and balance your house bank responsibly
• Safely store beverages, equipment, and cash at the end of each shift
• Follow health and safety guidelines, including proper sanitation and cleaning procedures
• Comply with all state, federal, and company liquor regulations, including responsible alcohol service
• Support security or management when handling difficult or intoxicated guests
• Assist with additional tasks and special guest requests as needed

What You Bring

• Knowledge of beverage preparation, garnishes, and alcohol service fundamentals
• Basic math skills to operate a register, manage transactions, and balance a cash bank
• English proficiency (spoken and written) to communicate with guests and complete required documentation
• Ability to handle bar tools, glassware, and stocked items safely
• Ability to promote and recall menu items, and to operate a POS system
• Comfort working on your feet and in confined bar spaces for extended periods
• Previous bartending experience preferred
• Ability to obtain all required licenses or certifications, including bartending SERV Safe certification
