Job summary

Longhorn Casino in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a part-time bartender to greet guests, take orders, and serve drinks with speed and accuracy.

You will handle cash, manage multiple tasks, and uphold high standards of guest service in a busy casino environment. Excellent communication and a neat appearance are required, with shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 6 months experience as a bartender.
• Cash handling experience.
• Ability to multitask with attention to detail.
• Knowledge of liquor brands, beverages, garnishes, and service.
• Knowledge of liquor laws and regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Takes orders and serves food and drinks efficiently and accurately.
• Collects money while following cash handling procedures.
• Places orders and garnishes and serves cocktails to guests.
• Follows all proper comp procedures.
• Keeps tables, slot banks, and work areas neat and orderly by removing glassware, dishware, ashtrays, and other items.
• Promotes and maintains the highest level of service to all guests while staying alert to their needs.
• Resolves guest complaints within scope of authority; otherwise refers the matter to management.
• Notifies supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft.
• Completes opening and closing duties, which includes properly storing all reusable goods, removing all items from tables, placing clean items in designated areas, wiping clean all surfaces, restocking supply cabinet, and securing all storage areas.
• Completes tasks such as folding/stacking cocktail napkins; stocking straws, picks, and matches; lining cocktail trays; stocking glassware; restocking supply cabinet; inspecting cleanliness and condition of assigned station and service areas and rectifying any deficiencies.
• Performs all other job- related duties as assigned.

It is the primary responsibility of the Bartender to greet guests in a timely manner, take guest orders, and serve orders quickly and accurately while providing excellent guest service. All duties are to be performed in accordance with federal, state, local laws, regulations, and ordinances, as well as department and Company policies, practices, and procedures.

• Takes orders and serves food and drinks efficiently and accurately in work area as applicable.

• Places orders and garnishes and serves cocktails to guests.

QualificationsRequired:

• At least 6 months of previous experience as a bartender in similar establishment.
• Previous cash handling experience.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail while meeting business demands.
• Working knowledge of liquor brands, beer, wine, champagne, non-alcoholic beverages, mixing of drinks, designated glassware, preparation methods, garnishes, and all beverage functions.
• Working knowledge of liquor laws and regulations concerning service of alcoholic beverages.
• Working knowledge of operation of all bar equipment.
• General understanding of specialty drinks, wine, and fine spirits.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Have interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts.
• Professional appearance and demeanor.
• Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
• High School diploma and equivalent.
• Able to effectively communicate in English, in both written and oral forms.

Preferred:

• Previous experience working in a similar resort setting.
