Job summary

Hilton Indianapolis is seeking a part-time Bartender to prepare and serve cocktails and other beverages per recipes while promoting food sales. You will also handle cash, stock bar supplies, and maintain a welcoming guest experience.

Responsibilities include mixing drinks, serving wine and beer, garnishing with fruits, and assisting in displays. Lead-capacity duties may apply when supervisors are absent. Background check is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior bartending experience preferred.
• Must have TIPS certification and meet state age requirements.

Job description

The Bartender will prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes while promoting food sales to patrons of beverage outlets.

Responsibilities

• Mix ingredients, such as liquor, soda, water, sugar and bitters to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
• Serve wine draught, bottled beer, non-alcoholic beverages and food.
• Collect money for drinks served.
• Orders and requisitions liquors and supplies. Stock and replenish glasses, beverages, mixes, fruit, and guest supplies.
• Place bottled goods and glasses to make an attractive display.
• Wash glasses, bar, and equipment.
• Slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks; prepare appetizers, such as pickles, cheese and cold meats.
• Take the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner.
• If functioning in a Lead Capacity: (a) take responsibility for assigned associates in the absence of the Supervisor, (b) assign work, and ensure proper performance of assigned associates.

Education and Experience

• HS Diploma or equivalent
• Previous bartending experience preferred.

Licenses/Certifications

• Must have TIPS certification and meet state law age requirements for tending bar.

Pay Rate: $9.50/hour

Position Requirements

Successful completion of a background check is required prior to employment.
