Job summary

Goode Company is seeking a bartender in Houston, TX to deliver fast, friendly service and expert drink-making in a high-energy bar environment.

You will stock the bar, handle POS transactions, maintain clean workstations, and support beverage promotion while engaging with regular guests and ensuring safety. This role is full-time and requires standing for long periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; some post high school education preferred.
• POS and card processing experience is required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Able to work days, evenings, weekends, holidays; customer first.
• TABC/Food Handler certification required.
• Punctual and reliable attendance.
• 2+ years in a high-volume establishment.
• Able to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Sets up the bar daily and stocks beer, wine, spirits and supplies.
• Greets customers warmly and provides top-tier service.
• Prepares drinks using recipes and portion control.
• Operates the POS system and related software.
• Keeps work areas clean and properly stored.
• Complies with laws and company policies.
• Checks IDs to prevent underage drinking.
• Maintains attractive, functional bar presentation.
• Serves food orders to guests at the bar.
• Restocks bar inventory and supplies.
• Loosely learns regular customers’ names.
• Handles credit and cash transactions at the POS.

Goode Company Bartender

You’re sharp, friendly, and fast on your feet. You know how to mix a great drink and keep guests coming back with your energy, professionalism, and attention to detail. Clean station, great service, and top-tier drinks? That’s your style.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensures proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis by requisitioning and stocking all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce according to established policies
• Greets all customers in a warm, sincere, and helpful manner
• Prepares and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practices prudent portion control
• Operates the complete POS system and other required software
• Ensures that work areas are clean and that equipment, tools, and supplies are properly stored
• Ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and all company policies
• Check identification of guests to avoid underage drinking
• Maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner to support efficient drink preparation and promotion of beverages
• Receive and serve food orders to all guests seated at the bar
• Restock and replenish all bar inventory and supplies
• Learn the names and personally recognize our regular customers
• Ability to operate the point of sale register system, including processing credit card and cash transactions

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or high school equivalency diploma required; some post high school education or training preferred
• Point-of-sale (cash register) and credit or debit card processing skills
• Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
• Able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, remember, for us the customer comes first
• TABC Certified/Food Handler Certified
• Punctual and reliable attendance
• 2 plus years in a high-volume establishment
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be 18 years of age
• Must pose a positive attitude and work well with other team members
• Be able to work in a standing and moving position for long periods of time
