Job summary

Hilton Houston Westchase is seeking a Bartender to mix and serve drinks to guests, following order specifications and brand standards. You will also handle related duties and maintain bar area cleanliness.

The position requires a current Food Handler's certificate/ServSafe and Texas TABC (or equivalent) certification. Training is provided and safety guidelines must be followed.

Qualifications

  • Ability to add/subtract two-digit numbers and perform operations with money.
  • Knowledge of Inventory software is a plus.
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Takes drink orders from customers and/or servers.
  • Mixes and serves drinks according to order specifications.
  • Serves wine and draught or bottled beer.
  • General cashier duties for the sale of bar food and beverage orders.
  • Requisitions for beer, wine, liquor and bar supplies.
  • Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive display.
  • Prepares drink garnishments.
  • Replenishes bar supplies as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bar area.
  • Set up, breakdown, or secure bar display when opening and closing.
  • Serves patrons in compliance with company, brand, and TABC requirements.

Summary

Mixes and serves alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to patrons of bar by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Takes drink orders from customers and/or servers
  • Mixes and serves drinks according to order specifications
  • Serves wine and draught or bottled beer
  • General cashier duties for the sale of bar food and beverage orders
  • Requisitions for beer, wine, liquor and bar supplies.
  • Arrange bottles and glasses to make attractive display
  • Prepares drink garnishments
  • Replenishes bar supplies as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bar area
  • Set up, breakdown, or securing bar display when opening and closing
  • Serves patrons in compliance with company, brand, and TABC requirements.

Education and/or Experience

Less than a high school education; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Current Food Handler's certificate or ServSafe certification is required. Current TABC (TX) or RVSP (LA) is required.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Inventory software.
