Job summary

Holland America-Princess is seeking a Bartender for the Denali Employee Community. The role emphasizes service excellence, speed, and flair, delivering exceptional guest experiences while following state laws and company standards.

You will mix drinks, present menus, greet guests, and operate a POS system in a fast-paced setting. Alaska housing may be provided where available, with eligibility to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
• Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for 8 hours per day.
• Must have or obtain Alaska Food Handler's Card.
• Must have Alaska Alcohol safety/TAPS card.
• Minimum age 18 to serve alcohol in Alaska.
• Eligible to work in the United States; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Mix and serve drinks following set standard recipes.
• Organize and set up the workspace before, during and after each shift, including stocking, cleaning and prep work.
• Knowledgably present menus and recommendations to guests.
• Greet and welcome guests to the restaurant while maintaining a professional appearance.
• Operate a computerized POS system, completing financial transactions accurately and processing payments.
• Contribute to a positive guest experience with a professional attitude and appearance.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Mix and serve drinks following set standard recipes.
• Organizing and setting up the workspace before, during and after each shift. Including stocking, cleaning, sanitizing and prep work.
• Knowledgably present menus and recommendations to guests.
• Greet and welcome guests to the restaurant while maintaining a professional appearance.
• Operate a computerized point of sale system, completing financial transactions accurately, making change and running credit cards.
• Contribute effectively to a positive guest experience while maintaining a professional attitude and appearance.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have or the ability to obtain an Alaska Food Handler's Card.
• Must have a valid alcohol safety and TAPS card for the State of Alaska.
• Minimum age of 18 years required to serve alcohol in the State of Alaska.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs./23kg.
• Must pass a pre-employment background check.
• Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

• Ability to organize and prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
• Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
• Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for minimum of 8 hours per day.
