Job summary

Esplanade at Madeira Ranch in Elk Grove, CA, seeks a driven Bartender to stock, mix, and serve beverages in a fast-paced, hospitality-focused setting within Troon’s community-focused organization. You will contribute to seasonal cocktails, support social media content, and ensure compliance with liquor laws.

Requires a high school diploma and ServSafe/TIPS certification or equivalent. The role offers engaging interaction with residents, opportunities for growth, and a stable, long-term career

Qualifications

• Fluent command of English in speaking, reading, and writing.

Responsibilities

• Stocks bar, mixes and serves alcoholic beverages, and maintains inventory records.
• Assists in creation of seasonal cocktails and menu development.
• Supports social media content planning for the department.
• Ensures compliance with state liquor laws and SOPs.
• Performs opening/closing duties, cash handling, and restocking.

General Purpose:

We are Esplanade at Madeira Ranch, Elk Grove’s premier 55+ resort-style community, dedicated to creating an exceptional lifestyle experience for our members. Our restaurant, Barrel House Bistro, is at the heart of our community, serving as a gathering place where neighbors connect, celebrate, and enjoy outstanding food and beverage experiences.

We are seeking a passionate hospitality professional who is looking for a long‑term role where they can truly make a difference in a community‑focused service environment. This position offers the opportunity to build relationships with residents, contribute to a welcoming atmosphere, and help shape memorable experiences for our members.

Pay Range: $17.00 to $20.00 per hour (Depending of Experience)

• Stocks bar, mixes and serves alcoholic beverages, assists in cost control, inventory, and maintains inventory records
• Assists department leaders with creation of seasonal cocktails and development of menu
• Assists department leaders with social media schedule and creation of content
• Maintains inventory control through conscientious use and careful monitoring of all food and beverage products; communicates with management in a timely manner when supplies are needed
• Ensures compliance with applicable state liquor laws and standard operating procedures provided by management
• Communicates guest requests and concerns to the Department Manager
• Performs opening and closing duties, including inventory, cash control, cleaning, and restocking
• Accountable for checks and cash transactions; utilizes Point of Sales system
• Reviews banquet schedule for changes, calendar of events, and special events
• Serves catered parties from service or portable bars
• On occasion, serves meals to guests
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance
• Maintains regular and reliable attendance
• Performs other duties as required
• High school diploma or GED; and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Requirements:

• Experience in restaurant point‑of‑sale (POS) systems (e.g., POSITOUCH and MICROS)

Physical Demands:

• Frequently stands, walks, talks, hears, and uses hands. Regularly reaches with hands and arms. Occasionally climbs, balances, stoops, kneels, crawls, crouches, tastes, smells, and sits. Frequently lifts up to 25 pounds. Occasionally may lift up to 50 pounds.

Certificates/Licenses:

• ServSafe Certified (Food & Alcohol) or TIPS equivalent

Job Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Preferences:

• Knowledge of wine, spirits, beer, and current industry trends
• Possesses knowledge of cocktail recipes
• Professional and courteous demeanor
• Demonstrates strong commitment to company values
• Exceptional personal hygiene and positive representation of the organization to Troon employees, clients, and vendors
• Fluent in English speaking, writing, and understanding
• Must meet state age requirements for handling alcoholic beverages
