Position Summary:

The Bartender greets customers, takes drink and food orders, mixes ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks, serves beer and beverages, and handles transactions. Communicates ticket times and potential issues to the manager and servers. Provides high-quality service at all times. Performs additional responsibilities as directed by management. This is a non-exempt position, reporting to the Store Manager, Assistant Store Manager, or General Manager depending on local requirements.

Essential Functions:

1. Greet customers, take orders, and suggest additional products.
2. Follow recipes and product directions for beverages.
3. Handle payments and operate cash registers, following cash handling policies.
4. Follow alcohol awareness procedures and manage intoxicated guests.
5. Adhere to HMSHost customer service, alcohol service, and cash handling policies.
6. Maintain a clean, sanitized, and well-stocked bar.
7. Follow all safety and sanitation policies.

Minimum Qualifications and Skills:

• Must meet state minimum age for serving alcohol.
• At least 1 year of bartending experience; high-volume or fast-casual experience preferred.
• Knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, and beverage recipes.
• Friendly, enthusiastic, and outgoing demeanor.
• Ability to read, understand instructions, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to lift/move up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and twist during shifts.
• Cash handling and customer service experience preferred.
• Frequent hand immersion in water and chemicals.
