JOB GOAL:

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

Build drinks; deliver food and beverages to patrons, directly or through servers. Must be able to manage patrons' alcohol consumption. This position serves as a trainer, supervising the learning experiences of students in all areas of The Hotel at Kirkwood Center, The Kirkwood Center for Hospitality Arts, and The Kirkwood Center for Continuing Education.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Build drinks; deliver food and beverages to patrons.
  • Effectively manage patrons' alcohol consumption.
  • Take food and beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons.
  • Maintain the organization and cleanliness of bar, lounge, and patio areas.
  • Proficient on POS terminal and cash handling.
  • Attend service and food training sessions.
  • Understand and practice 'Serving Alcohol with Care' principles.
  • Maintain regular and consistent attendance at work.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to take directions and perform work effectively.
  • Maintain a positive, customer service-oriented attitude at all times.
  • Maintain proper grooming and dress code standards.
  • Speak and understand English sufficiently to communicate with customers, supervisors, and colleagues.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES WITH/WITHOUT REASONABLE ACCOMMODATION:

Position involves working in an office setting. Occasional standing, pushing, pulling, and grasping (10-33%). Frequent reaching and viewing a computer and close visual work (34-66%). Constant sitting, walking, repetitive motion, talking, and hearing (67-100%).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Preference for candidates with professional bartending experience.
  • Preference for candidates with a post-high school degree.
  • Preference for candidates with at least two years of full-time experience in a related hospitality setting or equivalent education and experience.
