Job summary

Wyndham Bloomington MOA Hotel is seeking a Bartender to join a guest-focused team. You will prepare beverages efficiently, upsell house drinks, and ensure responsible service while maintaining a clean and organized bar area.

Applicants should be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and be comfortable with varied schedules in a full-time hospitality role at our Bloomington location. Hilton discounts and other benefits may apply.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greet guest pleasantly as they approach the bar; promote house drinks and up-sell to increase revenues.
• Prepare beverages requested by guests using established pouring standards and recipes.
• Monitor guest alcohol consumption and check IDs when age is in question.
• Follow hotel safety protocols and report incidents promptly.
• Interact with guests pleasantly during shift.
• Set up the bar with liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware and supplies.
• Perform routine daily tasks as listed in the daily checklist.
• Ensure all liquor is secured before, during and at close of shift.
• Assist guests as necessary to ensure a positive experience.
• Other tasks as requested by supervisor or hotel management.

Wyndham Bloomington MOA Hotel is seeking Bartenders who enjoy being a part of a team, are hard-working, have a positive -can do attitude and strive to deliver exceptional customer service! Must be available evenings, weekends and holidays.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES & POSITION PURPOSE

To deliver a great guest experience while preparing beverages in a timely manner.

Essential Functions: - Bartender

• Greet guest pleasantly as they approach the bar; promote house drinks and use up-selling skills to increase revenues.
• Prepare beverages requested by guests using established pouring standards and drink recipes to provide a consistent product to the guest and to control costs.
• Monitor guest behavior and guest alcohol consumption to determine when alcohol service to a guest should cease; notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired conditions of guests. Check identification whenever the age of a guest requesting an alcoholic beverage service is questionable.
• Follow established hotel safety protocols and procedures at all times. Immediately report any safety/service incident to the supervisor or MOD.
• Interact with guests pleasantly during shift.
• Set up bar including all liquor, mixers, ice, garnishes, glassware and supplies
• Performs routine daily tasks as set forth in the daily checklist.
• Ensure that all liquor is properly secured before, during and at close of shift.

Supportive Functions:

• Assist all guests as necessary to ensure a positive experience.
• Any other tasks as requested by direct supervisor or other hotel management staff.

Requirements

Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to read, write and speak the English language to communicate with employees and guests.

Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel.

Our hotel functions seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. In addition, this is a hospitality business and a hospitable service atmosphere must be projected at all times.
