Comal in downtown Berkeley is seeking a bartender to join our vibrant team, focusing on guest service, cocktail preparation, and maintaining the bar’s high standards.

Ideal candidates have strong cocktail knowledge, English/Spanish communication, and the ability to mentor bar staff. We offer health insurance, dining discounts, and flexible scheduling for a balanced work-life blend.

Formación

• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Current Food Handler certificate and Unlawful Harassment training certificates.

Responsabilidades

• Provide guest service and beverage service at a fast-paced bar.
• Train barbacks and ensure smooth bar operations.
• Batch cocktails and prepare ingredients for service.
• Mix, pour, and serve cocktails with consistency and flair.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area.

Comal has been a community mainstay since opening in downtown Berkeley in 2012. Recognized for its excellence by Michelin Bib Gourmand & SF Chronicle Top 100, Comal serves delicious regional Mexican food specializing in masa-based dishes, wood-fired hearth cooking, craft cocktails and agave spirits. Comal’s food is seasonal, and ingredient driven. The simple, yet refined food is complemented by a stellar cocktail list, a well-priced wine list and a handpicked, seasonally changing beer list. We are a large restaurant and aim to have broad appeal. Prior experience as cashier, server, wait staff, restaurant host, or other FOH restaurant jobs are highly beneficial to success at this job. We have a number of great opportunities for professional Bartenders. The Bartender works closely with Barbacks to provide exceptional drink and food service to bar and restaurant guests. This position has a range of responsibilities including guest service, barback training, cocktail batching, mixing and serving, ingredient production, cleaning and organization.
