POSITION SUMMARY:

The Bartender prepares and serves beverages to guests in the bar area in a friendly, courteous and timely manner. You should be knowledgeable, attentive, and focused on providing the best possible service in a fast-paced environment. You should be efficient, reliable, and perceptive with excellent communication and time management skills.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepares alcoholic, non-alcoholic and other beverages for customers and servers in accordance with standard recipes.

Adheres to proper alcohol handling, sanitation, and safety procedures, and maintains appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all beverage items.

Checking ID to ensure members/guests are of legal age to purchase alcohol.

Applies knowledge of the full menu, beverages and other restaurant information such as restaurant hours and types of payment.

Checks and maintains stock of glassware, beverages and bar supplies and communicates shortages to management.

Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses and serving beverages to members/guests.

Collects payments and operates cash registers for drinks and/or food served following company established cash handling policies and procedures for all transactions; secures all monies at the end of each shift.

Communicates health and/or safety concerns/violations immediately to management.

May perform other duties as assigned by management.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ ABILITIES:

Must have a great attitude.

Thorough knowledge of alcohol serving practices and standards.

Working knowledge of point-of-sale computers and software.

Strong problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills, ability to handle tense situations with coworkers and customers calmly and rationally.

Ability to meet physical and scheduling demands of the position, including, walking, standing, or lifting heavy items for extended periods and working nights, weekends, and holidays.

Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
