Sonesta International Hotels Corporation is seeking a bartender to uphold Sonesta A+ Service Standards, delivering high-quality beverages and attentive service across social venues of the hotel in Austin, TX.

The role involves setting up and breaking down the bar, taking drink orders, planning menus, and occasionally acting as a server. You will ensure ID checks, inventory, safety, and collaboration with F&B teams to create wow guest experiences.

Qualifications

• TABC & Texas Food Handler certified.

Responsibilities

• Welcoming customers, reading and listening to people to determine beverage preferences, making recommendations, and taking drink orders.
• Planning drink menus and informing customers about new beverages and specials.
• Also acts as a Server when needed.
• Selecting and mixing ingredients, garnishing glasses, and serving beverages to customers.
• Checking identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol.
• Taking inventory and ordering supplies to ensure bar and tables are well-stocked.
• Adhering to all food & beverage safety and quality regulations.
• Handling cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensuring charges are accurate and returning correct change to patrons, balancing the cash register.
• Maintaining a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment.
• Developing new cocktail recipes.
• Working with the bar and F&B teams to elevate Sonesta A+ service standards.
• Communicating across departments to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Completes other tasks as assigned by the Beverage Manager / Director of Operations.

Job Description Summary

The bartender is responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives covering the social venues of the hotel. The bartender sets up, services, breaks down the bar area, and assists with cocktail service to ensure a high level of quality, consistency and service for all our guests. The bartender executes Sonesta A+ Service Standards to create a WOW experience for all guests.
