Job summary

Merit Coffee is hiring immediate baristas to join their San Antonio team at the airport. The Barista creates an amazing guest experience by greeting customers, taking orders, and crafting tea, coffee, and espresso drinks following established recipes.

As a tipped position, you will operate the POS, handle payments, and maintain cleanliness and equipment while delivering first-class service to travelers from dawn to evening.

Qualifications

• Experience handling cash and processing payments accurately.
• Able to operate a POS system and handle basic transactions.
• Warm, guest-focused communication and service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests and take drink and food orders quickly and accurately.
• Prepare and serve tea, coffee and espresso beverages per recipes.
• Operate coffee equipment; maintain cleanliness and safety standards.
• Total and collect payments using the point-of-sale system.

Whether working in an on-trend national brand, or an iconic concept from the local community, you will create and deliver first-class experiences for the traveling public.

• Operate coffee making equipment. Dismantling and cleaning machinery, as needed.
• Prepare and present beverages according to established recipe and presentation standards.
• Accurately total, process and collect payments from guests to include, but not limited to, using the point-of-sale system.
• Handles money, processes credit and debit card, makes change, while complying with the company’s Cash Handling and Loss Prevention Standard Operating Procedures.
• Knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the restaurant's menu and products.
