Job summary

The Post Oak Hotel in Houston is seeking a Lead Barista to lead the barista team and deliver exceptional guest coffee experiences. The role focuses on preparing espresso-based drinks, beverages, and maintaining high service standards in a Forbes Five-Star environment.

Ideal candidates will have strong communication, experience in high-volume settings, and a willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-3 years of restaurant experience in high-volume operation.
• Previous hotel, luxury, or Forbes experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Barista team by managing workload and delegating tasks.
• Greet guests and welcome them in a friendly manner.
• Take drink orders and follow policy regarding service of alcohol.
• Know the menu and explain items, ingredients, and preparation methods.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders.
• Serve food and beverages promptly with accuracy and good presentation.
• Check on guests and address requests/concerns.
• Address guest complaints professionally and escalate as needed.
• Comply with all federal and state laws, including tip reporting.
